Profile

Dr. Eng. M.L. Duminda Jayaranjan is a highly motivated and accomplished academic administrator, researcher, and leader with extensive experience in engineering, management, and professional development. He currently serves as the Dean of the International College at Siam University, a role he assumed in January 2023 after serving as the Associate Dean for the previous five years. Concurrently, he holds positions as an Adjunct Professor at Webster University in Tashkent, Executive Director (Interim) of Siam University's Institute of Professional Development, and President of the AIT Alumni Association's South-East Asia Chapter. A professional engineer by training, Dr. Jayaranjan's expertise lies in environmental engineering and management, technology and project management, and greener production technologies. His specific research and teaching interests are broad, covering Life Cycle Analysis, solid and hazardous waste management, climate change, and environmental economics. This academic focus is complemented by industrial interests in improving factory productivity and managing by-products like coal ash, a topic on which he has published. Dr. Jayaranjan is a proactive leader who has founded several key initiatives, including the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre at ICOSIAM. Dr. Jayaranjan's academic foundation is robust, culminating in a Doctor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. He also holds a Master of Engineering in Environmental Water Resources & Management and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. His international exposure includes time as an exchange student at Saitama University, Japan. A native of Sri Lanka, Dr. Jayaranjan is a dedicated team player and mentor, known for his strong interpersonal skills and commitment to societal betterment.
